The location of Maldives is unique. The country is located on the Indian Ocean to the south of India’s Lakshwasdeep islands. It is located to the west of Sri Lanka and extends up to 823 kilometers. It is basically a group of islands situates close to the equator. This accounts for the hot and humid climate in the country.
Maldives is located at the equator and experiences monsoonal climate. Maldives has two distinct seasons; dry season and wet season, in these two seasons the temperature varies hardly. Since Maldives consists of small islands and are surrounded by seas, hot days are often tempered by cooling sea breezes and balmy evening temperatures.
