Thiruvananthapuram

City of the sacred serpent

Thiruvananthapuram, the city of the sacred serpent is built over seven hills. This capital of the state of Kerala has a long coastline with quiet, world-renowned beaches, historical monuments, temples and a rich cultural heritage. Tucked into the lower part of Southern Kerala, it is surrounded by the wooded highlands of the Western Ghats on the east and northeast, and the Arabian Sea on the west. It is a well-planned town with added charms of overwhelming greenery, never-ending stretches of coconut trees, and the maze of narrow, winding streets.
